学名：Haeckelia rubra
体長：～15mm
体長は15 mmほどで、他のヒドロクラゲを食べる。
発見当初は有櫛動物と刺胞動物両方の特徴を持つクラゲとして驚かれたが、食したクラゲの刺胞を奪って使う盗刺胞を行うことが判明した。
This species measures about 15 mm in length and feeds on other hydrozoans.
When it was first discovered, it caused a stir as a jellyfish exhibiting characteristics of both cnidarians and hydrozoans, but it was later found to practice “theft of cnidocytes,” in which it seizes and uses the cnidocytes of the jellyfish it preys upon.
