庄内浜では夏～冬に出現するが多くはない。成長させるためには大量のクラゲを与えなければならない。傘径は20～30cmのものが多いが、時に50cmに達するものがいる。刺胞毒が強く、刺されると痛い。

 

At Shonai Beach in front of Kamo Aquarium, they appear from summer to winter but are not numerous.
To grow them, a large quantity of jellyfish must be provided. Most have a bell diameter of 20–30 cm, but some occasionally reach 50 cm.
Their nematocyst venom is potent, and stings are painful.
