クラゲの放射管は4の倍数であることが多いが、本種は例外的で６本の放射管をもち、不均等に並ぶものが多い。

触手数は60以上に達し、口柄支持柄は傘口より突き出す。

広島県のマリホ水族館周辺で採集された個体から、繁殖させた。

 

The radial canals of jellyfish are often multiples of four, but this species is exceptional, possessing six radial canals that are frequently arranged unevenly.
The number of tentacles reaches over 60, and the Manubrial peduncle protrudes beyond the bell.
We successfully bred individuals collected near the Mariho Aquarium in Hiroshima Prefecture.
