北日本で見られるエダクラゲ類。北海道でよく採集される。ドフラインクラゲに似ているが、体をよく見ると異なる箇所がいくつもあり、口柄はオレンジ色をしていることがある。当館では繁殖に成功し、ポリプから遊離させたクラゲを展示している。

 

This species is a jellyfish found in northern Japan.
It is commonly collected in Hokkaido.
It resembles Nemopsis dofleini, but upon closer inspection, several differences can be seen, and its oral peduncle may be orange.
Our aquarium has successfully bred this species and displays jellyfish detached from polyps.
