傘径：～8mm

成体でも傘径８ｍｍほどしかない。名前にコモチと付くが、クラゲ芽はつくらない。

当館ではポリプからクラゲを遊離させて育成している。

しかし、稚クラゲは１ｍｍに満たないくらい小さいため、成体まで育成はとても難しい。安定して成体まで育てられるように挑戦している。

 

Even as adults, their bell diameter is only about 8 mm.

Though its name includes “komochi” (meaning “child-bearing”), it does not produce Medusa buds.
In my aquarium, we cultivate them by releasing jellyfish from polyps.
However, young medusa are very small, less than 1 mm, making it extremely difficult to raise them to adulthood.
I am striving to achieve stable cultivation all the way to adulthood.
