学名：Podocoryna hayamaensis

傘高：～１mm

日本各地で数例の出現記録がある。庄内浜でも採集された。

傘高は1mm程度、8本の触手を持つのが特徴。

1988年に相模湾で発見され、昭和天皇が新種記載したクラゲ。

当館で繁殖に成功し、2024年に生活史を解明した研究論文を発表した。

 

Several sightings have been recorded across Japan.

This species were also collected at Shonai Beach.
Characterized by a bell diameter of about 1mm and eight tentacles.
This jellyfish was discovered in Sagami Bay in 1988 and described as a new species by Emperor Showa.
Our museum successfully bred it and published a research paper elucidating its life cycle in 2024.
