南日本でよく見られる。

成長しても傘高３mm程度の小さなクラゲ。

傘縁の4カ所から触手が数本生えている。

寿命は短く、数週間以内には死んでしまう。

当館では常にポリプからクラゲを遊離させて、展示飼育している。

 

This species is commonly seen in southern Japan.
It remains a small jellyfish, with a bell height of about 3mm even when fully grown.
Several tentacles extend from four points along the bell margin.
Its lifespan is short, and it dies within a few weeks.
At my aquarium, I constantly release the jellyfish from their polyps for exhibition and maintenance.
