日本各地に生息する。
このクラゲは毒を持たない。
植物の「瓜」に似ていることからこの和名がつけられた。
このクラゲはカブトクラゲの仲間が好物であり、当館では常時カブトクラゲを大量に繁殖してウリクラゲに与えている。

Its Japanese name was given because it resembles the plant “cucumber.”
This jellyfish feeds primarily on Bolinopsis mikado, and our facility constantly breeds large quantities of Bolinopsis mikado to feed to the Beroe cucumis.
