宿主に付着することが多いクシクラゲの仲間だが、外洋を漂うことが分かっており、ダイビング中に観察されることがある。神奈川県でのみ確認されているが生態学的情報は乏しい。本展示にあたり、峯水写真事務所の峯水亮氏と峯水写真事務所/北里大学大学院海洋生命科学研究科の兼城涼香氏にご協力いただいた。
Although this species of comb jellyfish often attaches itself to hosts, it is known to drift in the open ocean and is sometimes observed while diving. It has been confirmed only in Kanagawa Prefecture, but ecological information is scarce.
