２０１３年に長崎県の大村湾で採集された個体に基づき新種記載され、隣接する佐世保湾でも出現 が確認された。

その後、２０２４年に約１０年ぶりに東京都の江戸川放水路で発見された。

江戸川区子ども未来館の協力により、本種を採集して展示することができた。

 

A new species was described based on specimens sampled in Omura Bay, Nagasaki Prefecture in 2013, and its presence was also confirmed in the adjacent Sasebo Bay.
Subsequently, in 2024, it was discovered in the Edogawa Diversion Channel in Tokyo for the first time in about ten years.
With the cooperation of the Edogawa Ward Children’s Future Museum, we were able to conduct sampling and display this species.
