２０１３年に約１００年ぶりに再発見され、初めて繁殖に成功し、２０１７年６月１日に北里大学と新江ノ島水族館の３館で世界初展示を行った。

飼育下ではヒョウ柄模様が出にくい。ポリプが非常に小さいため、育成は難しい。

 

This species was rediscovered in 2013 after approximately 100 years, successfully bred for the first time, and exhibited globally for the first time on June 1, 2017, at three institutions: Kitasato University and the New Enoshima Aquarium.
In captivity, its leopard-like pattern is difficult to observe.

Due to its extremely small polyps, cultivation is challenging.
