パラオ共和国コロール島海水湖 lake2で採集された。

日本産のサカサクラゲと比べて口腕が小さく、形状が大きく異なる。

サカサクラゲは世界中の熱帯域に分布するが、パラオ共和国内にはそれぞれの海水湖で独自に進化した種類もいる。

 

A species of jellyfish inhabiting the Republic of Palau.
Sampled from Lake 2, a saltwater lake on Koror Island, Republic of Palau.
Compared to Japanese jellyfish, it has smaller oral arms and a significantly different shape.
While jellyfish are distributed throughout tropical regions worldwide, within the Republic of Palau, each saltwater lake harbors uniquely evolved species like this one.
