全長２０～３０ｍｍの漏斗型のクラゲ。

他のクラゲのように浮遊しない。自然界では海藻などに付着して生活する。当館のバックヤード水槽に突如出現することもある。

繁殖は難しい。

物に付着していないと弱っていく傾向があり、最適な人工付着物を模索しながら飼育をしている。

 

This species is a funnel-shaped jellyfish measuring 20–30 mm in total length.
Unlike other jellyfish, it does not float freely. In nature, it attaches to seaweed and other surfaces to live. It sometimes suddenly appears in my aquarium’s back-of-house tanks.
Breeding is difficult.
It tends to weaken if not attached to something, so we are exploring optimal artificial substrates while keeping it in captivity.
