体は円柱形に近い長楕円形をしている。

2本の触手が中央付近につくことから、フウセンクラゲと見分けることができる。

体長は７ｃｍほどまで成長する。

飼育は難しく、サルパ類やウミタル類を好んで食べる。

サルパ類やウミタル類を安定して繁殖できれば、容易に飼育できるようになるかもしれない。

 

This species has a body shape that is nearly cylindrical and elongated.
It can be distinguished from the balloon jellyfish by its two tentacles attached near the center.
It grows to a body length of about 7 cm.
It is difficult to keep in captivity and prefers to eat salps and sea squirts.
If salps and sea squirts can be reliably bred, it might become easier to keep.
