ソトエリクラゲ属の一種

傘高：～5mm

傘の外側に8本の隆起線が発達し、刺胞列が並ぶ。

これを「外襟」と見立てて、和名の由来となった。

傘高は５ｍｍほどの小型のクラゲ。

当館では繁殖に成功し、ポリプと一緒に展示している。

種同定が難しく、現在ＤＮＡ分析などを行い調べている。

 

This species develops eight raised ridges on the outer edge of its bell, lined with rows of nematocysts.
These ridges resemble an “outer collar,” which inspired its Japanese name.
It is a small jellyfish with a bell height of about 5 mm.
My aquarium has successfully bred it and displays it together with its polyps.

Species identification is difficult, and we are currently investigating it using DNA analysis and other methods.
