傘径：～30cm以上

成長すると傘径30ｃｍ以上になる大型のクラゲ。日本では当館が初展示を行った種類である。海外の研究者とポリプを交換して入手した。飼育が難しく、一定以上の大きさになると傘の形が悪くなり、弱ってしまう。原因を探りながら飼育を続けている。

 

This species is a large jellyfish that grows to a bell diameter of over 30 cm. It is the first time this species has been exhibited in Japan at my aquarium. We obtained it through an exchange of polyps with overseas researchers. It is difficult to maintain in captivity; once it reaches a certain size, its bell shape deteriorates and it weakens. We continue to care for it while investigating the cause.
