2024年に台湾の国立海洋生物博物館の協力によりポリプをいただき、そこからクラゲを遊離させて育成した。

これまで野生個体は他園館で展示されてきたが、繁殖個体は当館が初である。

成長すると、傘の中のすじが赤褐色になり、生殖巣の形が十字に見える。

 

In 2024, we received polyps from the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Taiwan and successfully cultured jellyfish by detaching them.
While wild specimens have been exhibited at other institutions, this is the first time my aquarium has bred them.
As they mature, the veins within the bell turn reddish-brown, and the gonads take on a cross-like shape.
