漢字：天草海月
傘径：～15cm

名前の由来は天草地方に多くみられるため。

触手は１６本あり、傘の表面に刺胞を含む突起がはっきりと見られる。

稀にサイズが大きいアマクサクラゲが小さなエフィラを食べてしまうことがある。偶然口に入ったのか、お腹が空いて食べてしまったのかはからない。

 

The Japanese name for this species originates from its abundance in the Amakusa region.
It possesses sixteen tentacles, and protrusions containing nematocysts are clearly visible on the surface of the umbrella.
Occasionally, larger individuals of this species may consume smaller ephyra of the same species.

It is unclear whether this occurs accidentally or due to hunger.
