深海調査などで見られる無毒のクラゲ。庄内浜には春に同じく深海で見ることができるキタカブトクラゲと同時に出現する。ウリクラゲよりも櫛板列の長さが短いので見分けることができる。キタカブトクラゲやカブトクラゲを丸飲みする。

 

This non-venomous jellyfish is observed in deep-sea surveys. It sometimes appears on Shonai Beach in spring alongside the Bolinopsis infundibulum.

It can be distinguished from the Beroe cucumis by its shorter comb plate rows.

This species swallows Bolinopsis infundibulum and Bolinopsis mikado.
