パラオ共和国メケルカル島サウスカシオペアレイクに生息する。

日本産と比べて色や模様、形などが異なる。

当館では山形大学と共同研究でパラオのクラゲ調査を行っており、その際に採集した個体から繁殖を行った。

サカサクラゲは分類の同定が不十分で、現状では種同定は困難である。

 

It inhabits South Cassiopeia Lake on Merkelkar Island, Republic of Palau.
Its color, pattern, and shape differ from Japanese specimens.
My aquarium conducted jellyfish sampling in Palau through joint research with Yamagata University, and we bred individuals sampled during these samplings.
The classification of the Sakasakajellyfish is insufficient, making species identification difficult at present.
