傘径：～60cm

北海道で稀に採集される大型のクラゲ。

傘径は６０ｃｍにまで達することもある。

未成熟の個体は傘全体が黄褐色だが、成熟個体になると「日輪」模様が傘に現れることがある。

クラゲを食べるクラゲであり、当館では傷ついて弱ってしまったミズクラゲを与えている。

 

A large jellyfish rarely collected in Hokkaido.

Its umbrella diameter can reach up to 60 cm.

Immature individuals have an overall yellowish-brown umbrella, but mature individuals may develop a “sunburst” pattern on their umbrella.

It is a jellyfish that eats other jellyfish; in my aquarium, we feed it injured and weakened Aurelia coerulea.
