クラゲムシ属の一種

当館で展示していたフトヤギに付着していたクラゲ。

体は半透明で赤い斑点が無数に散在する。

おそらく日本で初めて確認されたクラゲだと思われるが、現在DNA分析などを進めて種類の同定を行っている。

 

This species was found attached to Euplexaura crassa that was on display in my aquarium.
Its body is translucent with countless red spots scattered across it.
This is likely the first confirmed sighting of this jellyfish in Japan; we are currently conducting DNA analysis and other tests to identify the species.
