「ヒトツアシ」と名前が付いているが、触手は１か所から数本出ている。

傘高４ｍｍほどの小さなクラゲ。

本種は体内にクラゲ芽を形成して増殖をするが、雌は傘の中にアクチヌラを形成することもできる。

ポリプもあるため、繁殖能力は高い。

 

This species bears the Japanese name “Hitotsuashi” (meaning “single-legged”), though its tentacles emerge from one point in several strands.
A small jellyfish with a bell height of about 4 mm.
This species reproduces by forming Medusa buds internally, but females can also form actinulae within their bell.
Since polyps also exist, its reproductive capacity is high.
