北海道から東北地方北部に分布する。少数だが庄内浜でも採集記録がある。本種のポリプはエラコなどの環形動物の棲管につき、ニンギョウヒドラと呼ばれる。当館では、宮城教育大学の協力により、ポリプが付着したエラコを入手して維持している。

 

It is distributed from Hokkaido to northern Tohoku.
Though rare, there are collection records from Shonai Beach in front of Kamo Aquarium.
The polyps of this species attach to the tube of Annelids like Pseudopotamilla occelata and are called Humanoid hydra (Proboscidactyla polyp).
With the cooperation of Miyagi University of Education, our aquarium has obtained and keeps Pseudopotamilla occelata with attached polyps.
