汽水域に生息する大型のクラゲで、飼育水は海水と淡水を混ぜて使っている。

北大西洋からメキシコ湾に分布し、日本には生息しない。

白く透明感があり、とても綺麗だが毒は強く、当館ではミズクラゲを給餌している。

 

This species is a large jellyfish inhabiting brackish waters, and its aquarium water is a mixture of seawater and freshwater.
It is distributed from the North Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico and does not inhabit Japan.
It is white and translucent, very beautiful, but highly venomous; at my aquarium, we feed it Aurelia coerulea.
