球のような傘をもつ。

傘高は3 mm程度ととても小さい。

本種のポリプはムシロガイの貝殻上で生活する。

タマクラゲとムシロガイは共生関係を結んでおり、貝はポリプの定着場所を提供し、ポリプは貝の外敵に対して防御する役割を果たす。

 

It has a spherical bell.
The umbrella height is very small, at about 3 mm.
The polyps of this species live on the shells of the flat snail.
This species and the Hima festiva have a symbiotic relationship:

the snail provides a place for the polyps to settle, and the polyps play a role in defending the snail against predators.
