南日本に多く見られ、未成熟個体は夏～秋に多い。クラゲからクラゲが出芽する。

よく見ると、中央の口付近に小さなクラゲが付いていることもある。

クラゲ芽は肉眼では見えづらいが、ルーペを使うとよく見える。

This species is commonly found in southern Japan, with immature individuals most abundant from summer to autumn. Jellyfish bud from other jellyfish.
Upon closer observation, a small jellyfish may sometimes be attached near the central mouth.
Jellyfish buds are difficult to see with the naked eye but become clearly visible with a magnifying glass.
